Create Menu/Catalog

Catalogue or Menu is created in order to group the similar products/items. Terminology “Catalog” is for retailers/suppliers while “Menu” for restaurants. Catalogue help in improving the navigation experience of online customers who wants to browse and choose the desired products. Twirll allows the creation of unlimited catalogues/menu and maximum of 2 levels categories per catalog.

Navigate to “Sales ⇒ Create Catalog/Menu”. It will open a modal box with catalog levels (refer screenshots below).

 >One Level Catalogue(#1): A single level Catalogue has no categories or sub-categories. All products are allocated directly underneath the main Catalogue. E.g. you can create all clothing products directly underneath Clothing catalogue. Follow the steps below:

  • Select “One level” and assign the Catalog/Menu name.
  • Ensure to assign an appropriate location to the catalog from “Sales ⇒ Browse Menu” (refer screenshot below)Assigning a location to a catalog in Twirll
>Two Level Catalogue(#2): A two level Catalogue has a main Catalogue/Menu and one level of categories. All products are allocated directly underneath the category. E.g. You can create a main Catalogue as “Clothing” and put “Men” and “Women” as level one categories under Clothing. Products of Men and Women can be created under the relevant sub-categories. Follow the steps below to create two level menu with multiple categories at level one (restaurant example):
  • Select “Two levels” and assign the name of the top-level or Menu Name (e.g. Vegetarian). Additionally, assign the name of one of the level 1 category (e.g. Dosa)Two Level Menu for restaurant
  • Navigate to the newly created Menu (Vegetarian) and start adding other level 1 categories (e.g. Main Curry, Starters etc.)Level1-Category
  • Refer the screenshot above. It allows you to add new categories (1 or 2 levels), remove category, edit or rename it etc. You can also assign an offer to different levels of the category. Additionally, split printing configuration can also be done from here (refer printer guide for more details)

>Three Level Catalogue(#3): A three level catalogue has a main Catalogue/Menu and two levels of categories. All products are allocated directly underneath the lowest level category. E.g. You can create a main Catalogue as “Clothing” and put “Men” as level one category under Clothing, then “Jeans” under “Men”. All Men jeans come be assigned to Jeans category. Follow the steps below to create three level menu with multiple categories at level two (restaurant example):
  • Select “Three levels” and assign the name of the top-level or Menu Name (e.g. Vegetarian). Additionally, assign the name to the two level of categories.Catalog with Two level of categories in Twirll
